James Darmody charged with assault on James Patterson of Cambridge near Woburn on a Sunday quarrel over right of way led to Patterson’s death two days later. Judge Edward F. Johnson discharged Darmody after contradictory eyewitness testimony and a medical examiner said Patterson died from complications aggravated by the assault. Darmody was under $2000 bonds. case argued in district court after continued hearing.
