John J. Kenney aged 25 died this morning at his cousin Mary EB Clynes home at 30 Harvard Street Fall River. He lived at 231 Cabot Street in this city and worked for the Bigelow Carpet Co. He had traveled to Fall River last Monday to visit his cousin. Undertaker Molloy will bring the body to his city.

In Wilkesbarre on August 9 a large eight foot eagle attacked Hiram Schmitt's children, ten year old August and seven year old Maggie. The boy defended the girl with a knife after the bird dragged her, both children were injured, the mother scared the animal away, and neighbor Joseph Decker shot the eagle.
West Harwich August 9 Mrs Edward Iverson 60 of Chicago died suddenly after a surf bath at Hotel Belmont She seemed in perfect health during the swim and collapsed in the bath house shortly after Emerging from the water she died within minutes Despite warnings from her daughters the cause was heart failure and the son took the body to Chicago

Natick Aug 9 John Marcier of Watertown was killed by an accidental rifle discharge while boarding a boat on the Charles River near Needham. Aimed at himself the bullet pierced his chest as he prepared to enter the craft. Hysterical mother and sister witnessed the tragedy. Medical examiner Hodgson deemed it accidental death. Marcier, about 20, had formed many friendships during a camping stay at Alden's Grove with local youths.

The 28th annual reunion of the 31st Massachusetts regiment met in the Grand Army memorial building in Springfield with Capt. Hopkins presiding. A regimental history update was discussed and two month deadline set for statistics. A banquet was served by the Women’s Relief Corps and reminiscences followed cigars. The 31st served in New Orleans Mobile and Port Hudson under Gen Butler.
A 13 year old boy named Joseph Manseau drowned in the Merrimack river near Aiken street bridge on the Little Canada side shortly before 1 pm. He swam with Zephirin Lessarg and likely went beyond his depth. The body was recovered in 10 feet of water, taken to Undertaker Albert's rooms, examined, then moved to the parents home at 200 Perkins Street.
