The Lowell soldier Sergt Leslie Huntting, who died in Greenville, S C while serving with the Fifth Massachusetts regiment, will be buried this afternoon at 2 from the First Baptist church. Rev H W O Millington will lead the services with Chaplain House and the ambulance corps in attendance. The procession forms near the armory at 1 45 with police, National band, militia companies, and city officials taking part. A wreath bears the inscription a brave true man whose memory should be ever green.
From Prescott to Merrimack and Central to Church Street, floral tributes included a red cross piece from Col Whitney and a Lowell gift as services concluded at the church. The cortege then went to Molson cemetery for interment. Company M held its first postwar drill at the State armory with Capt Mitten and 35 men, noting some new recruits’ manual errors. A brief police court session saw five drunks. Robert Bryan and Mary Hansbury placed on probation. Michael Murtagh and Joseph F. Hasen taxed $1 each. William J. Bradley fined $5 as a second offender. Mary Ryan pleaded guilty to illegal liquor keeping and fined $50, her first offense. Mary Shea charged with illegal liquor keeping. case continued to Friday. Bail set at $300.
About 6.45 this morning fire crews were sent to a store blaze on Middlesex street built by Appleton corporation. Origin unknown but limited damage. Later, box 241 reported a grass fire near Rea street Belvidere started by several boys. flames were fought and did not reach any structures.
At the regular weekly meeting of Dracut Grange a vote to pay the church 100 for use of rooms during the year was approved. Entertainment on the programme featured piano soloist Miss Julia Fox and readings by Mrs. Elliott Morgan Miss Edith Kelley Miss Morrill of Tewksbury Grange and Mr Elliott Morgan.

Michael Boyle of Pittsburg reports relief and better sleep after use, while J J Litre of Fulton claims cure for scrofulous humor with Hood’s Sarsaparilla and Hood’s Pills. The copy promotes Hood’s Pills as a non-irritating cathartic to take with the tonic.
Weavers totaling over 200 met at Welles hall to debate unionization and wage talks with Agent Saunders. The price list proposed by the weavers was rejected as insufficient, while a temporary union was formed with officers including Michael J. Quinn and John Havalin.
The Middlesex mill, citing long dull business, set 10 o clock this morning to return an answer on its future. Saunders stressed that the woolen trade had been slow for some time and the mill had kept running as long as possible. He noted they have run as many hours as feasible, with debate over whether shutting down or continuing to operate loses less.
A Textile union meeting last evening debated a proposed mill operatives building costing about 70 000 dollars. If 1000 members join as shareholders at 25 dollars each it would raise 25 000 dollars to start. The union pledged support for Middlesex strike operatives though they remain unorganized. Reports on spinner group organization were presented. Next meeting in two weeks.
The Journeymen Tailors' union held a semi monthly session at the Arlington hotel last night to discuss the use and abuse of the union label.
President Charles J. Glidden of Erie Telegraph and Telephone Tours Dallas on expansion plans and new Exchange building. He notes local subscribers rising from 200 in 1884 to 1500 now, with 70 toll wires and a target 2400 locals and 100 toll wires by summer, aiming to place Dallas among top Pacific coast cities in telephone density. He vows ongoing improvements and high service standards as he heads north for a May return.

Fay president Mrs C W Huntington vice president and Mrs H P Graves secretary treasurer The first public meeting is set for Thursday April 20 at 3 PM in the High Street church with Miss Bertha M Shepard speaking on Home Missions in Alaska and addressing young ladies Mrs Ida V Woodbury of Boston will discuss work among mountain whites and Mrs J W Danielson of Providence will speak on the value of alliances All ladies are invited If not rainy an excursion ticket to Nashua Junction for Manchester goes on sale tomorrow and a special train leaves Manchester at 10 PM for Lowell Baptists take notice.
Three courts met at the courthouse with Judge Lathrop presiding in Lowell for an annual session. A $1500 verdict favored Charles Stanley against Lowell Lawrence and Haverhill Railway in a tort suit. Other matters included will probates, administrations, and a non-suit in Marsigny versus Ayer company with judge Lawton in probate court.
Private Joseph Maitrejean and Miss Lottie Sloan wed at the Immaculate Conception parochial residence with Rev. Fr. Lawrence officiating. The bride was assisted by cousin Miss Lottie Stone. best man was Edward Moran. A wedding supper at the bride’s father's Suffolk street home followed. Guests included Wakefield friends and Lorenzo Harris of Canada. Maitrejean left for Fort Warren to enlist for three years and plans to join the Heavies for the Philippines.

At the parsonage of the Fifth Street Baptist church by Rev. H. W. O. Millington on Monday evening, Mr. Joseph Clark and Miss Winnie Ashmont, both of Tewksbury, were united in marriage.
