In Cheyenne Wyoming on April 14 six people died when melting snow caused creeks to flood Sheridan. A Burlington train was swept into the torrent and six passengers were drowned before aid arrived.

Julius Wessel rejoiced after receiving a license notice from the Lawrence commissioners granting him a yearly liquor permit but an official mistake later revealed his name was not on the approved list. Citizens rushed to officials to learn who was dropped as Wessel celebrated with friends while wine flowed in town. The error, explained by Commissioner Holt, occurred when notices were prepared and mailed after the grant.

Mountford of Mt. Zion lodge was chosen as an alternate. Next year Worcester will host the Grand Lodge meeting. This marks Lowell achieving the honor for the first time.
Frank P. Trowbridge died yesterday at his home on 5 Watson Avenue. He leaves a wife and two children, and also his father and mother. A sister, Mrs. Swett, resides in North Chelmsford.
