Paul Salazar Killed in West Lovington Area Car Crash
Paul Salazar 10, of Weslaco Texas, died instantly at 2 45 Thursday September 17 when a pickup carrying 18 people including 17 Mexicans overturned 14 miles west of Lovington on Artesia Highway. The driver Miguel Salazar 17 lacked a license. Amelia Rojos and Rita Salazar among the injured were taken to Lea County Hospital. Funeral services for Paul Salazar were held September 19 at Smith Yarbro Funeral Home with burial in Lovington Cemetery. He was born August 4 1944 in Weslaco Texas. Survivors include his parents five brothers and three sisters.
