The fourth death from the Oct 8 wreck 23 miles north of Hobbs on state road 18 brings Lea County’s total to 17. Perry Vernon Hoffman died at Lea General Hospital after being in critical condition since admission. Remaining victims include Mrs. Virginia Hill Mrs. Ruth Birdsong and Ray Guss Chambers. Funeral details listed for Birdsong and Hoffman. Hoffman born Sept 13 1910 in Belva Oklahoma moved to Hobbs in 1936. He was a Gray Motors employee and a First Baptist Church member living at 510 W Clinton Hobbs. Survivors include two sons a brother and three sisters.
