Tractor accident claiming life in Lovington area
Juan Jose Ontiveros died Friday at 6 45 PM from injuries suffered days earlier in an automobile accident with cotton pickers near Lovington. He was pulled under a truck when a cotton sack belt around his neck caught in the drive shaft. He died at Lea County Hospital and his body rests at Lovington funeral home awaiting relatives in Mexico.

Funeral services were held for Lester Darcy Fox of Tatum at Smith-Yarbro Funeral Home. He died October 14 after months of illness and is survived by his wife Estelle Ray, a son Adrian, two daughters Ruby Hart and Rita Crank, three brothers and three sisters, five grandchildren, with interment at Tatum Cemetery.
