Four die in Eunice Jal highway crash injures two
On the Eunice Highway a two car collision near Eunice and Jal killed Temple Houston Brown and Hatcher M Chancellor and Irwin Daniel Hoke Jr. and Carolyn Sue Hoke. Loretta Hoke and Elva Wilson were injured with Wilson critically ill. Brown leaves a wife and four children. Chancellor had been working on a Jai school project. The bodies were sent to Texas towns for burial and services planned in Pflugerville.

Final Rites Held for Lea County Resident Walter Pendleton
Funeral services were held in Jal for Walter Pendleton longtime Lea County resident. Pendleton died Thursday night survived by widow Linda Beckett Pendleton and son John Walton Pendleton. After services in Jal his remains were buried in Carlsbad. Lovington residents attended the ceremony and know him from ranching years in the area.

Lions Plan Election Party With Buck Brothers Illusionists
