Father Expires In Abilene
Mrs. Andy Moore learned at about 6:00 p.m. Tuesday that her father, R. E. Cole of Abilene Texas, had died of a heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Moore and their children left at once for Abilene. Mrs. Moore teaches at Central School and Mr. Moore runs Lea County Implement Co.

Clovis market receipts include 125 hogs with steady bids as bids hold for the Wednesday run. Top hogs range 190 to 240 pounds at 26 dollars per hundredweight while 160 to 180 pounds bring about 24 to 26.50. Heavier hogs 250 to 290 pounds at 25.25 to 26.50 and 290 to 350 pounds at 24.25 to 25.25. Sows 275 to 380 pounds fetch 22 dollars, 350 to 500 pounds about 20 to 22. Steers and heifers trading 14 to 17.50 for light stock. Shoats around 23 dollars and change per hundredweight.
