Elderly man unnamed in Hobbs hospital after early hitchhike crash

Three Injured In Gas Well Blow Out Near Eunice
A gas well blow out 12 miles south of Eunice injured three men from the Backerstaff and Tibbett rig for Western National Gas Co. Occurred about 2 A M when the blowout preventer turned over. E A Thomas suffered severe eye injuries and head cuts. He was taken to Roswell for eye care after emergency treatment at Lea County Hospital. Edward Wilkerson and J B Bolen suffered eye injuries. Bolen had a broken right arm.
