Funeral for Mrs. Wanda Kinard Held at Hobbs Church
Funeral services were held at 3 p m at Rock Chapel Baptist Church Hobbs for Wanda Fay Kinard 24 who died after a lengthy illness in a local hospital Saturday. She is survived by three children Linda Fay Franklin Lee and Johnny two. her parents Ed and free man Hobbs. three sisters Cecil Frazier Odessa Doris Parsons Denver City and Jay Cane Brownfield. one brother Dale Freeman in the Navy at Pearl Harbor. Pallbearers were M D Strickland Charlie Beardsley Helen Harrison James Troy John Manigold and Richard Wiley. Burial followed at Memory Gardens Griffin Funeral Home in charge.

Grasshopper Infestation Reported in Lea County
Extension entomologist Richard C. Dodson and county agent Tl. C. Perkins surveyed Lea County last Thursday and found a light to moderate migratory grasshopper infestation 12 miles west of Lovington and near Caprock community. They asked the Bureau of Entomology to study government control. Aldrin, chlorodane, and Toxaphene are noted controls with adoption in Union Colfax and Valencia counties.
