Final Rites Held For Eunice Policeman
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in Eunice for Leonard Eugene Daniel 52 who died after collapsing while attempting to arrest a man in front of a bar. He had served about three months on the Eunice police force and previously worked at Snyder Ranch. He is survived by his wife Mary Daniel a son Muriel Daniel two sisters and two brothers. Services were at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Randall and Rev. Welch presiding. Pallbearers were Pete Stephens M King H Martin Truman Turner A P Mitchell and W D Duke.

Charles Murray Danglade 46, brother of Lovington resident Jack Danglade, died Friday in Quincy Illinois after a three day illness. Funeral held Monday in Webb City Missouri with graveside rites at Mount Hope Cemetery conducted by Rev. Frank Funk. He was born October 20 1906 in Webb City attended public schools there and was a Kansas University graduate. Survivors include wife Mary daughter Martha father F H Danglade brothers Dr James H Danglade and Jack Danglade sister Mrs Clara Louise Brown. Body returned to Webb City by Johnston Arnce Simpson Funeral Home.

March of Dimes Benefit Dance Set for Saturday in Hobbs
The Hobbs VFW hall hosts a public dance Saturday night to aid the March of Dimes. Johnny Payne and his Four Star Orchestra from Lubbock will perform from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. All net proceeds go to the March of Dimes, with hall use donated and the orchestra playing for expenses only. The Hobbs American Legion Auxiliary sponsors the event.

Bond Set in Eunice Assault Case Killing Officer
