Lovingtons building inspector George Cowan reports January permits totaling 267000 with 33 permits issued including 6 commercial projects worth 61500 and 205500 for residential work. The largest project is a Ches Gore body shop at 1521 South Main by contractor Buel Price of New Mexico Implement Co. A Quon set building. Oilwell Supply is building for Homco Co at 709 South Main with Valley Builders as contractors. American Home Builders of Artesia starts 10 of 100 planned houses. One home begun January 19 will open February 8 for inspection, and two more residences in the 30000 class are due to start soon.

Final Rites Today For Mrs Pittman In Tatum
Funeral services for Mrs. Pittman known as Grannie will be held at the Church of Christ in Tatum on February 3 1953 at 2 p.m. Ernest West to officiate. burial at Tatum Cemetery beside her husband. Survivors include three sons Lowell Forrest and Henry Pittman two daughters Mrs. T E Davis and Mrs T M Brown twelve grandchildren eleven great grandchildren and other relatives.
