Penitentiary Riot Ends in Double Stabbing Death
In Santa Fe New Mexico a gang fight at the state penitentiary left Speight Parks a 31 year old Portales truck driver sentenced to two life terms dead from stab wounds to the lungs. Two other convicts Francisco Lopez and Joe Montano were wounded with Lopez in critical condition. The riot involved 12 to 15 inmates armed with improvised knives and followed a previous riot two months earlier.

Three Lovington Officers Fired In Wholesale Dismissal
