Carlsbad Man To Stand Trial Friday
Paul Bernard Luther 41 of Carlsbad faces trial Friday at 3 p m on charges of driving while intoxicated carrying a deadly weapon and disturbing the peace. Police say he was arrested Saturday at the Halfway Bar after returning with a P 38 pistol. the bar owner drew a weapon but it did not fire. Luther posted $240 bond and was released. he seeks counsel for the next trial.

Man Escapes Jail During Work Detail
