The Eunice project aims to fund a new community building and public library with a $60 000 cost covered by a local cigarette tax. Deadline Monday For 1956 Wool Growers Applications At ASC
Lea County asks wool growers to file 1955 wool and lamb sales payment applications by April 30 at the County ASC office. Incentive payments for the year ending March 31, 1956, are projected near 40 percent of the average wool price, with 62 cents per pound as the target incentive price. Lamb payments run about 70 cents per hundred pounds live weight, funded by the national average. A one cent per pound wool deduction and five cents per hundred pounds for lambs will finance a wool and lamb campaign.

Lawson Bess Injured In Car Wreck Near Tatum
Lawson Bess of Tatum was taken to Lea County Hospital Friday afternoon after a car accident eight miles north of Tatum. He suffered a bad gash on the side of his head. Gary Granger of 404 S. Eddy received minor injuries Thursday when his tricycle was struck in front of a car driven by Mrs. Mary G. Fabela. The incident occurred about 6 p.m. Wednesday in front of Granger’s home. Gary sustained a bad cut on the head and multiple bruises.
