Hidalgo County will receive 220790 dollars as its share of payments in lieu of taxes on federal lands. The U.S. Government will send 8.5 million dollars to 31 of New Mexico's 32 counties. Trans-Am Relay Race pilots halt in Lordsburg
The Academy of Model Aeronautics Trans-Am Relay Race landed in Lordsburg on Monday and camped overnight before continuing to Tucson en route to Las Vegas. The event funds Muscular Dystrophy with about $39,000 raised so far, and local teams from El Paso and Hidalgo Wing Nuts competed on the Tucson leg.
