Gala Reunion Countdown Begins for Decades

Gift Show Planned for Lordsburg Hidalgo County
The Lordsburg Hidalgo County Chamber of Commerce announced a 1982 Merchants Gift Show at the Community Cultural Center on November 13 and 14. Hidalgo County merchants may display merchandise for 16 hours to boost local shopping, with space reservations via the chamber. The reunion weekend includes a 2 p.m. Saturday start at the Civic Center with registration and a Get Together, followed by a 280-reservation dinner and dancing at La Fiesta with Richard Andrada and his band.

New Mexico counties and several towns will get checks totaling 8,934,783 as compensation for tax free Federal lands. Parade Honors Honorary Helpers At Hidalgo County Fair
The Hidalgo County Fair parade showcased 15 local organization floats and 22 bicycle entries with participants from the National Guard public schools fire department and ambulance service, plus six out of town guests. Parade Marshall Harold Bishop and assistants organized a large effort with five float judges and two bicycle judges and a dedicated judging stand by Russell Atkinson. Local businesses funded prize money and Ft Bliss Army Band appearances, reflecting broad community support and teamwork.
