Wells Backed Up For Lordsburg Water Supply
Lordsburg City Council heard Herb Collins report on continuing water shortage mitigation. Wells Well and C Well, shut since 1976 due to impurities, now tested in 1978 and 1982 and again meeting state standards. If tests hold, wells may be reconnected to the main line at an estimated $11,000 spent so far versus $100,000 for a new well. Realtor Jack Morgan proposed buying Glen Acre Water Wells for $5,000 down and $60,000 to $65,000 financed, claiming 300 acre feet of rights, but legal costs and hidden issues prompted caution.
