Ponder Given Plea Deal For Assault At Lordsburg High
Joel Ponder, 44, charged with battery at Lordsburg High School May 28, pleaded guilty to assault on school personnel, a misdemeanor. Magistrate Judge Y B Morales sentenced him to 364 days in Hidalgo County Jail with all but four days suspended, plus 364 days probation, a $1000 fine, and court costs. He must write an apology to be printed in the Lordsburg Liberal.
