The town Lordsburg has multiple origin stories. One credits Albert Lord the SP railroad engineer. another cites Dr Charles H Lord, Tucson businessman. a third says a passenger’s joke “Lord what a burg.” Local pioneer Emma Muir notes initial spelling Lordsburgh, later shortened to Lordsburg.
