Hidalgo County hosts a three day Diamond Jubilee starting September 15 with an Old Timers Reunion at 7 PM at the American Legion Hall for old timers only. Hidalgo County Rodeo Queen Contest Rules

Hidalgo County selects a Rodeo Queen with rules requiring 16 to 19 year old single residents. Contestants are judged 50 percent on personality and 50 percent on horsemanship and must ride in parades and grand entries. Voting occurs Sunday night by Rodeo ticket buyers and the top contestant advances to the New Mexico State Fair Queen Contest.
