Ramirez Receives Dolphins After Nuclear Submarine Qualification
Gilbert G Ramirez IC Petty Officer 3rd Class was presented with his Dolphins by CDR J W McKinster USN on June 27 1972 after qualifying in Nuclear Ballistic Submarines aboard the USS Sam Rayburn SSB(N) 635. Son of Manuel and Manuel J Ramirez of Lordsburg he is now stationed in New London Connecticut with his wife Anita a 1970 Lordsburg High School graduate.

Parade Heralds Hidalgo County Fair Kickoff
The Old Timers Parade marks the fair start in Hidalgo County with a route from Fourth Street to Main and Railroad Avenues. Traylor Injured in Car Collision at City Corner
R. V. Traylor suffered cracked ribs after his car collided with a vehicle driven by David Saucier around 12:30 p.m. last Friday at the Sixth and High Streets intersection. Traylor’s car stopped through a fence at the southwest corner. Saucier had only minor injuries.
