Hidalgo County Court House Dedication Acknowledges Labor Day Festivities
Hidalgo County celebrated the new court house with a Labor Day dedication led by Governor Richard C. Dillon and local officials. The event featured speeches by state leaders, a large community dinner, band performances, a concert, and a crowd-pleasing inter-state baseball game showing Lordsburg’s 8 to 5 victory over Morenci. The project cost 34 000 dollars with 25 500 in land and furnishings funded by refunding bonds. The ceremony honored public service, education, and women voters influencing governance.
