Old Timer Parade plans finalized for Sept 15
Plans are set for the Old Timer Parade Saturday morning Sept 15. The lineup features a police escort, National and State colors, the Board of Governors of the Old Timer association, the Sheriff Posse, Chamber of Commerce representatives, and Old Timers desiring rides. High school bands and about six floats will lead and follow various escort vehicles through a north and west route ending near Miller Chevrolet with horses and miscellaneous vehicles second line.

Haltoms Escape Injury After El Paso Trip Car Crash
Mr and Mrs George Haltom were unhurt when their car rear ended a parked vehicle three miles past the city line while en route home from El Paso. Their car suffered heavy front-end damage including radiator hood and right fender as they visited son George Haltom Jr and family to see their newborn grandson Charles Michael.

Local All Stars Curtain Queens 5 4 in Softball Tilt
Last Friday evening the Lordsburg All Star softball team clashed with the Arizona Queens of Phoenix at the high school field. The Queens, led by pitcher Charlotte Armstrong, showed strong hitting and fielding with several runs in the early innings while Lordsburg battled back in the third.

State Elks elect leaders and pledge to screen candidates
James Kinkema Vice Pres. Of State Elks and Sherwood Culberson Exalted Ruler of Lordsburg Lodge attended the Hobbs convention with Freeman McWhorter as trustee.
