Kristy R. Clark of Lordsburg a 17 year old senior at Lordsburg High School has officially entered the 1980 New Mexico State Fair Queen contest. She will represent Hidalgo County and plans to study veterinary medicine at New Mexico State University. The 5 6 ash blonde rides a nine year old horse named Sassy and is active in 4 H club work. Contenders are judged 60 percent on horsemanship and 40 percent on personality across a series of competitions during the exposition. The 1981 queen will be crowned just before the All Star Rodeo Finals in Tingley Coliseum on September 20. Entries close September 10. The fair runs September 10 21 in Albuquerque with horse racing and shows beginning September 5.
