Two Lordsburg Residents Die In Car Wreck
A head on collision in a heavy rain near Anthony killed Lordsburg residents Harvey Morris Breaks and Thomas G Vader. Vader owned a 1951 Ford driven by Breaks. Robert M Harrison of Port Lavaca Texas drove the other car. Harrison his wife and two sons were injured and taken to a Las Cruces hospital. Requiem High Mass was held.

City Installs Police Radio Station Near Lordsburg
Lordsburg installs a 60 watt Motorola police radio station behind the police building on Railroad Ave. A 55 foot pole bears transmitter and directional antenna with room for an American flag. The system eliminates dead spots to Silver City and Deming and enables rapid road blocks across multiple states. A new officer will join the force soon.
