Constitutional Amendment Election Tuesday
A special election to vote on nine constitutional amendments will be held Tuesday November 2. Voters also decide Sunday sales of alcohol in this optional district. Lordsburg precincts 1 and 2 vote at City Hall Precinct 3 at the American Legion Hall on Tenth St Virden Rodeo and Animas voters at their school houses.

New Mexico to Overhaul License Plates in Dec
New Mexico’s Motor Vehicle Department says plates will switch to silver background with red lettering and Zia symbol, be reflective, and use three letters and three digits AAA-001 as the first plate. Counties will no longer be numbered on plates and trailer registrations new fee schedule lists $15 for small recreational vehicles, $20 for two axle trailers, $35 for three-axle trailers.

Lordsburg District Announces Free or Reduced Lunch Program
The Lordsburg School District adopts free or reduced price lunches for families unable to pay the 35 cent standard. Applications require an adult signature and should be sent to the child’s school principal. Decisions are reviewed within five days and can be appealed to the superintendent under state Fair Hearing procedures.
