Motorcycle Crash Injures City Police Captain Bogert
Captain W. O. Doc Bogert suffered a broken right shoulder in a Sunday motorcycle spill on Chester Street near 6th Street. He was en route to the baseball field when the kickstand dropped, throwing him. Doctors say recovery will take at least two months and he consulted a bone specialist in El Paso Monday.

Local Band Excels In Silver City Homecoming Visit
The Lordsburg band led by Mr. Roger Wells traveled to Silver City for the New Mexico State Teachers College Homecoming. They performed at Silver Park Fairgrounds, enjoyed two dinners, and received free fair and horse race tickets. Uniform shortages prevented marching in the parade and contests, but the group received high praise for conduct and cooperation.

Army Ground Forces Band to perform in Lordsburg Saturday
The 90 piece AGF Band will give a free concert Saturday at 7 30 p m in Lordsburg at the football stadium. Led by Captain Chester E Whiting the group travels in three large vans and marks over 65 000 miles of touring since March 1946. Lions Club sponsors with U S Army Air Force Refating Service and the Department of the Army backing the event.

Cubs Enjoy Hallowe'en Park Party At High School
The Cub Scouts and their parents attended a Hallowe'en Park party in the High School Auditorium. Mr. I. C. Phillips led the event and Merit awards were given to many Cubs. Prizes for costumes went to Edward Brown Fernando Badillo and Raymond Probert. Pack flag honors went to Den 1. Gifts were exchanged and the November project will be a paper item. Doughnuts and cider were served.
