First Junior High Football Game Set for Wednesday

Coach Paul Probert announces the first Junior High football game in town to be held next Wednesday evening October 27 at the local stadium. Deming Junior High will be the opponent. Games start at the usual kickoff time with admission 15 cents for children 25 cents for high school students and 40 cents for adults.

Notice to voters informs that precincts 6 and 7 are merged into precinct 7 and the polling place will be the Legion hall in Animas. A remittance of $10.00 is noted. The Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to disqualify any girl failing to meet the requirements.

Supper Sunday Enchiladas for Cemetery Fence Fund

An enchilada supper will be held Sunday October 24 from 1 until 8 p m at the Moctezuma club benefiting the Shakespeare cemetery association. Proceeds go to the Cemetery fund to purchase a much needed fence.

Two S. P. Employees Honored on Retirement

More than 300 friends gathered Monday evening at the Railroad Club Grande Division Palador to honor Mrs. Mandy Crowley local chairman of the Stevenson and Mr. R. B. Ownby of the Telegraphers Organization Rio who represented officials of honor. Main address by General Chairman Mr. Wilson of the Telegraphers Organization. The Bradberry Sisters Quartet provided music. Mrs. Stevenson received a billfold with cash and Mr. Ownby a silver belt buckle and desk set. Halloween decorations brightened the room. Toast master Mr. Oxsheer led the tributes and cake and coffee were served afterward.
