Speer Brothers Expand Lordsburg Barber Shop Through 1940s
Claude Speer opened Speer's Barber Shop in Lordsburg in May 1935 with one chair. He added a second chair in fall 1935 and a third in 1938, operating solo until 1946 when his son Leon returned from the Navy and joined as partner. The shop moved into the former Conder’s Jewelry building. pictured are Claude, Leon, and Mac Johnson, a two and a half year barber at Speer's.
