The City Corner reports on Lordsburg New Mexico gas distribution work focusing on underground leakage repairs. Four methods are used including full encirclement welded sleeves patch welds ready clamps and pipe replacement totaling 106 leaks in 52 areas and 2484 feet of two inch or smaller pipe changed. Traffic Fatalities Reported By State Department
The State Transportation Department reports September had 41 fatal traffic accidents causing 48 deaths, and nine months into 1982 show 353 fatal crashes with 415 deaths. Overall fatalities are near 1981 levels, while fatal crashes are down about five percent. Pedestrian and motorcycle deaths fall, bicycle and motor vehicle deaths rise.
