Federal Funds Allocated For Hidalgo Hospital
The State Advisory Hospital Council allocated 250000 dollars for Hidalgo County's Lordsburg hospital as part of the Hill-Burton funds totaling 1175695.88 for the year. The Lordsburg request is for a new facility with other grants funding expansions to existing hospitals. County officials and hospital board members attended the Albuquerque meeting awaiting final action by the State Board of Health to release the funds. The Yucca Sub-District of the W. W. S. C. S. of the Methodist Churches met in Silver City on October 12 with about 50 women attending. The district includes Bayard Deming Hated Truth or Consequences Silver City and Lordsburg. The meeting chaired by President Mrs. W. H. Gary discussed W. S. C.
