U. S. Representative Joe Skeen will visit Hidalgo County on Friday October 25. A dutch treat luncheon is set at noon at the American restaurant with County City officials and Chamber of Commerce members invited. McPherson Hidalgo GOP chair says attendees may join. Skeen will answer questions. He will attend a pep rally at Animas, visit Burgett’s Rose Farm, then a 5:30 dinner at the American with local Republican candidates.

Winfred C. Jones 78 of Lordsburg died October 14 1990 at Gila Regional Medical Center Silver City. Graveside service scheduled for October 20 at 10 00 am Mountain View Cemetery Lordsburg with Rev Eddie Kerr officiating. He was born January 25 1912 in Calico Rock Arkansas a former East Texas Motor Freight truck driver and Southern Pacific section foreman. Survivors include wife Dorothy daughter Donna Gandara half-sister Marvalee Mills sister in law Bonnie Craig and Will of Chaparral four grandchildren Lisa Nancy Mickey two Las Cruces residents and Lordsburg and four great grandchildren.
