Obituary: Bailey Smith Lifespan Ends After Heart Attack
Friends and family mourn Bailey Smith who died October 9 1941 after a heart attack at the Hatfield home on the way home from town. He was born June 16 1877 in Hamilton Texas and lived in New Mexico since age eighteen. He leaves widow May Smith five children and several relatives with a large funeral at the Methodist church and burial at Mountainview Cemetery.

Gammon Couple Attends Rocky Mountain Hotel Convention
Mr and Mrs Nat Gammon returned from Albuquerque where the 41st Annual Rocky Mountain Hotel Association met at the Hilton. President J B Herndon Jr and Governor John E Miles welcomed attendees from New Mexico Colorado and Wyoming. The group learned from leading hotel men and enjoyed a chuck wagon dinner at the Albuquerque Country Club. The Gammons traveled with Ray Elms of the Murray Hotel Silver City and toured Willow Creek on the return trip. Next meeting is planned for Cheyenne Wyoming.

California niece visits as family relives Lordsburg roots
Judge and Mrs. B B Ownby entertain their niece Mrs Zena Pease and her son Ralph who stood six feet five inches as they toured the country for five days before returning to California. M W Bouck an 8 P agent at Bowie in Coldwell Ontario died September 30 from peritonitis after an appendectomy. He is buried in Coldwell, his longtime home, leaving a wife and two daughters. A well known railroad worker for nearly forty years in the area. Mrs Charles Conner traveled to El Paso with Mr and Mrs Leo Cohen and stayed with Mr and Mrs Sam Dobbs until Sunday.
