National Polio Unit Sent Aid to 36 States This Year

Galusha chairman Hidalgo County Chapter NFIP says the National Foundation has sent $2,492,981 in supplementary aid to 36 states this year to replenish funds for treating and caring for infantile paralysis patients. Fun Club Plans Hayride on Silver City Road

The American Legion picnic drew a smaller crowd last Sunday yet kept veterans and friends upbeat. Mrs. Arlo Harvey won blue for best potato salad while Judy Turman led in sack race time and Ped Brown topped the men’s division in the same event. Billy Kimbley won the kids’ sack race, with G. O. Kimbley taking bean-guessing honors and How ard Phillips second. A men vs women ball game ended from exhaustion, and after a big meal the group sang songs by a bonfire.
