Secretary West will hold a hearing in Safford Arizona on October 9 regarding the Gila River Water Users Association petition to build a dam on the Gila above the Coolidge Dam in New Mexico. The Red Rock site north of Lordsburg would serve Virden and Duncan areas and connect to a two mile wide water corridor for up to thirty five miles to Safford.
