Lordsburg Board Hears Vision on School Facilities

The Lordsburg School Board held a special session to view a presentation by Wilson and Company on common district problems. They discussed outdated teaching methods, facility constraints, and potential upgrades including improved heating cooling and solar heating as part of a forward looking planning effort.

Ima Fairly Services Held Here Thursday

Ima E. Fairly born October 11 1905 in Lordsburg died November 7 1983 in Las Cruces. She taught in Lordsburg and Grant County schools served Hidalgo County as superintendent for two terms owned the Hobby Shop in Lordsburg and belonged to several organizations. Graveside rites were held November 10 at Mountain View Cemetery with Rev. David Snyman officiating pallbearers listed.

Thanksgiving Services Wednesday in Lordsburg by ministers

The Lordsburg Ministerial Alliance invites the public to a Thanksgiving Service on Wednesday evening November 23 at 7 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church corner 7th Street and Animal. Jesse Liles will preach “Thanks Living” with singing specials and a freewill offering to aid transients. A Haven food box and babysitting will be provided.

Deer Season Opens Here Saturday in New Mexico

Deer season starts Saturday November 19 in southern New Mexico with two major changes to hunting rules. Motorized vehicles are restricted to existing roads and may not leave roads except to retrieve downed game. A large Animas Rodeo area closure bans deer bear and javelina hunting, enforced stringently possibly with aircraft, with maps posted locally.

Doctor Out Dr Wallin Absent At Clinic Schedule

Doctor Out Dr Wallin will be absent from his office November 17 and 18. The Lordsburg Clinic will be open all day Thursday using the services of a physicians assistant. On Friday from 1 6 p.m. The Animal Clinic will be closed as usual on Thursday and open from 9 a.m. to 12 45 p.m. Friday but closed Friday afternoon.

City crews finish sprinkler system at Short Park field

The City, County Commissioners, Lordsburg School System, and local softball and hardball teams completed a citywide sprinkler project at the Short Park baseball field. City officials outline budget gains from severance tax bonds and invite new Chamber members as the Visitor's Guide goes to print.
