Twelve Involved Auto Accident Near Lordsburg
Saturday afternoon twelve high school students from Saf were injured in a peculiar racing accident west of Lordsburg on a divided highway. Two groups of six youths collided near an open culvert. twelve were treated, two with serious injuries including internal damage and leg fractures. All were discharged or moved to hospital after initial care. The outing occurred in the ua mountain area on the return trip.

Houses To Close On Veterans Day
Lordsburg will close all day on Veterans Day November 11 including drug store garages auto parts lumber yards realty and insurance offices courts liberal office cloth stores grocery stores and post office. The bank will be open until noon Saturday November 3.

Fifty-Three Delegates Attend Two Day Pythian Sunshine Girls Meeting
Special to the Liberal reports that the Grand Council of the Pythian Sunshine Girls for New Mexico met in Lordsburg last week with fifty-three delegates from five councils. Notable guests included Mrs. Beatrice Hartshorm of Pomona California and Mrs. Betty Wood of Deming. The event featured stunt night, a grand reception, a hotel breakfast for officers, a luncheon, and a 120 guest turkey banquet at the Junior High School cafeteria.
