Seven Juveniles And 24 Minors Arrested After Graduation
Seven juveniles and 24 minors were arrested and charged with possession and consuming alcohol after graduation exercises near Virden. All offenders were taken to Hidalgo County Jail, bonded out after appearing before Magistrate Judge Ed Cramer, and fined 100 dollars plus 20 dollars court costs and a 10 dollar correctional fee. Offenders hailed from Duncan, Virden, Playas, Safford, Clifton, and Lordsburg. Sheriff Hall said patrols would continue in Lordsburg and Animas during upcoming graduations.

Santos Arana Marquez, 65, former Lordsburg resident, died Saturday in Whittier, California. Visitation was Wednesday from 4 to 6 PM at Baca's Heather Funeral Chapel. Prayer service Wednesday at 7 PM at St Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Joseph Zagarri officiating. Funeral Liturgy Thursday at 10 AM at St. Joseph's Church. Interment in Shakespeare Cemetery.
