Lordsburg school band directed by Roger les will present the annual Spring Band Concert in the high school auditorium Friday evening May 12 at 8. Police Judge R. R. Gale Assumes New Duties

Local Scout Troops Win Honors At Camporee
Boy Scouts from Troop 120 of the Methodist church and Troop 121 of St. Josephs Catholic church competed at the Scout Camporee held at Little Walnut Recreation area near Silver City. The event drew 351 Scouts from Grant Luna and Hidalgo Districts with 42 leaders and about 350 spectators. Salvador Diaz of Troop 121 earned the Life Scout badge during a Court of Honor by the campfire. The new road between Miami and Superior Arizona opened last week and cuts seven miles of mountain grades. Man Wanted by FBI Apprehended Here
Alan Carter a 32 year old suspect sought by the FBI and by police in Phoenix Arizona and Red Bluff Montana was arrested Monday morning about 6 miles east of town by State Patrolman Bradford while on traffic duty. Carter was in a stolen car and armed and is held in the local jail awaiting disposition.

The New Mexico Western College Band led by A. A. Parotti begins a three day, nine high school tour starting April 30.
