Representatives chosen for Boy and Girl State sessions
Last week Lords High School faculty selected Leola Payne Virginia Becht and Brown as representatives for Boy and Girl State. If any cannot attend Marise Coursey and Armando Estrada were chosen to replace them. The selections came from Berg High School and are part of annual sessions sponsored by the American Legion.

Frontier Airlines Officials Visit Lordsburg Mission Set
Frontier Airlines officials toured Lordsburg Municipal Airport and the city welcomed them. The survey party expressed satisfaction with facilities and announced a regular scheduled route to Lordsburg would begin on or before July 1.

Career Conference Contestants Earn Merit Certificates
Lordsburg high school student contestants at the Career Conference held last weekend in Silver City were awarded merit certificates at a Monday assembly. Certificates covered Superior Excellent Good and Satisfactory levels. The girls ensemble earned Good with Marise Coursey achieving Superior and Martina Cooper Good for vocal solos. Helen Ramirez and Rebecca Avalos earned Good for piano solos.

Three Lordsburg Brothers Die In Deming Car Crash
In Deming on Highway 70 60 Monday about 7 am a car carrying Alberto Hideglo 19 and Ysabel 26 collided with a McNutt oil tanker. Alberto and Ysabel died instantly Bernadino 16 died later at Ladies hospital Francisco 12 and Pete 14 survived with injuries. Funeral plans in El Paso. State Patrolman I R Funk traced cause to driver likely asleep. Wheeler Mortuary of Deming handling arrangements.
