Democratic County Committee Adopts New Rules

The Democratic committee met at home Friday afternoon with members listing. They adopted new rules governing all party activities by unanimous vote and outlined election of delegates, precinct officers, and provisions for special conventions and removal for misconduct.

Owney Hostess Woman's Club Guests Delight Many

Mrs Lida Lewis and her son Hil lie stopped in Lordsburg Saturday afternoon on their way to the coast to visit Mrs Emily Lewis Miller. They plan a two week absence and will stop again in Lordsburg on the return trip. Mrs Lewis is matron of Carrie Tingley Hospital and Bil lie remains in the Chicago postal service.

Douglas Rodeo Caravan Visits Lordsburg Boosters Welcome

A lively booster caravan arrived in Lordsburg at 8 45 a m to promote the Douglas rodeo and fiesta on May 10 11 12. City officials greeted the visitors as bands dancers and the Border Wrangelers provided entertainment during a highway show. Sheriff Cavin Commissioner Townsend and Mayor Short praised the reception and invited all to attend the Douglas rodeo and fiesta.

Last Tourist School Meeting Marks Coronado Centennial Effort

The final tourist school session in the courthouse drew a large crowd as Superintendent T J Mayfield presided. Richard Bennett of the State Department of Vocational Education introduced George C Dickens from the Interior Department who outlined the Coronado Cuarto Centennial plans. Attendees were praised for interest and twelve cities across New Mexico Texas and Arizona will participate in celebrations from May through October with 176 folk festivals planned. Participants will receive certificates signed by Governor Miles, Joseph Bursey, and the Lordsburg Chamber of Commerce.
