Flynn Named County Welfare Director in Hidalgo County
Joseph P. Flynn has been named director of the Hidalgo County Welfare Office in Lordsburg. The appointment was announced by Charles Lopez in Santa Fe. Flynn joined the department in August 1971 as a caseworker and has overseen financial assistance social services and the Food Stamp Program. He was officer in charge from February 1 1971 and now has full administration of programs in Hidalgo County. Flynn and his wife Barbara have three children Barbara Bridget and Elizabeth.

City Ordered To Connect Utilities In Lordsburg

BIGHORN SHEEP HERD AT RED ROCK NEARS TEN
The desert bighorn herd at Red Rock Wildlife Area near Lordsburg grows from seven to nine as two more sheep from Mexico arrive and lambs are born. Five ewes have lambed. the first lamb died, four lambs survive, and four of the five newborns are rams.
