Española Trail Motorcade Visits Lordsburg

Elwood T Bailey leading the Old Spanish Trail motorcade from San Diego to St Augustine stopped in Lordsburg for an overnight halt. The party, including San Diego Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis members, aims to dedicate the Old Spanish Trail monument in St Augustine after a 2700 mile run in 11 days.

Bonnie Mine Officials Visit Electric Mine Site

Division Manager Visits Local Power Property

I Bowen of El Paso division manager of the Texas Louisiana Co accompanied by two engineers from Chicago visited Lordsburg on Tuesday with local manager Leslie Blackbourn. They inspected all properties in the vicinity including new power lines to mines south of the city and expressed high satisfaction with local management and ongoing extensive work.

Jordsburg honored by hosting at the local airfield Lieutenant RL Maughan and Lieutenant BT Kennedy. The Gauthier No 1 well resumed drilling Friday after crippled machinery slowed progress. Antanas reported the rig reached 1180 feet and progress looks good. If no further machinery problems occur, another week should yield clearer results from the formations.

National Guard Visitors Hear Pay Checks For Three Months

The P O B Development Co test well was spudded Saturday morning and has drilled steadily despite hard formations for about forty feet of penetration. Church Ladies Battle in L H Church Basketball Game

On March 21 in the high school auditorium Baptist ladies beat Mettodiat ladies 17 to 10. The Baptist lineup included Mrs Tom Pendleton and Mrs Dorothy Hughes among others. A sixth and seventh grade boys game ended 25 to 0 in favor of the seventh graders. High school teachers defeated the girls 9 to 7.
