Lordsburg will be honored next Monday afternoon as a control point on the great motor cade along the Old Spanish Trail from San Diego to St Augustine. The itinerary shows night controls at Tucson Bisbee and Lordsburg as the parade proceeds east to the Atlantic seaboard via Paso San Antonio Houston New Oceans Pensacola and St Augustine. Railroad line to be junked in New Mexico soon
The El Paso and Southwestern railroad portion of the Southern Pacific system won permission from the Interstate Commerce Commission to abandon 31 miles of track between Deming and Hermanas in southwestern New Mexico.
