Extension agronomist visits Hidalgo County meeting cotton plan

G. Kr. Quesenberry, extension agronomist, and County Agent Gleason spoke to Virden farmers Monday evening about organizing planting and marketing cotton to secure top prices. He described seed centers proving effective in cotton regions and suggested cultivating underground-water areas with a focused, small tract project. He praised California farmers showing interest in Middle Animas development.

Lt. Eric Nelson the around the world flier visited Lordsburg praising the field and its smooth ground. He recalled a 1919 field landing near the Quill to the Pacific and spoke of cordial locals and the southern airway becoming the main route. Nelson and Ser. The Lordsburg Base Ball Association hosted Copper Base Ball League magnates from El Paso Bisbee Fort Bayard Hurley and Santa Wits.
