Lordsburg and Grant County Council Seats Decided in Low Turnout
In Lordsburg four council seats were filled with Glenn Dorsett Mauro Rico race the only contest. Ward Two’s Harry Heath Ward Three’s John Schimmel Ward Four’s Bill Oliver won seats while Eddie Diaz Frank Orna Jr. David Warren and Paul Gandara depart. Across Grant County Bayard Central Hurley also elected six councilors with low turnout amid 60 degree weather. Bayard incumbent Salvador Puentes led with 253. Herrera ousted Perez in Bayard. Central re elected Adam Silva with 209. Beltran Jr edged Toreay 158-154. Hurley chose James E. Marshall 235 and incumbent Robbins 184. Snow showers visited Lordsburg Wednesday night with near half inch accumulation and icy roads on Highway 90 to Silver City.
