Health officials report nineteen influenza fatalities since January across San Miguel Chaves West Union Bernalillo Grant Ric a Sierra and Santa Fe counties. Services Held For Mrs. Eaves Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Ella Eaves were held Feb. 29 at Heather Chapel with Vernon Hawkins of the Church of Christ officiating. Born Dec. 3, 1680 in McDade Texas, she died Feb. 25 at home. Survived by son Archie and two grandsons William and Robert of Lordsburg, with two additional grandchildren noted. Pallbearers included Joe and Lewis Bivens Frank Bowman Bill Ramage Stan Walton and Marvin Parnell. Burial followed in Mountain View Cemetery.

Lordsburg Town Team Wins Two in Silver City Doubleheader
Lordsburg traveled to Silver City on Sunday Feb 28 for a league-closing doubleheader. In game one against Hurley Lordsburg edged 71 69 after a late hook shot by Pete Hatch. Blair led Lordsburg with 17 points while Hurley’s E Huerta scored 17 and Pino 16. In game two Lordsburg topped El Paso Feed Store 74 72 as Steve Rivera poured in 29 and Hatch 15. Diaz added a timely layup sealing the win.

Teens Face Federal Charge in Auto Theft Case
Four teenage youths were arrested by City Police after being linked to stolen vehicles from Pampa Texas and Deming New Mexico. The group admitted stealing both cars and were turned over to the FBI for U.S. Commissioner action under the Dye Act.
