Lordsburg Student Makes Honor Roll at Southwestern
Miss Rita Fileen Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs An teny M. Smith of Lordsburg, earned a place on the President's Honor Roll for the spring 1965 term at Southwestern College in Texas. She completed at least twelve semester hours with straight A's and served as valedictorian of the Jr. College division, among other honors.

Lewis Elbrock Dies at Home in Animas Ranch
Lewis Wesley Elbrock died Thursday evening June 17 at his ranch home in Animas from an electrical accident. He was born July 1915 in London Texas and lived in the Animas Valley most of his life. He married Retha Johnson June 5 1937 in Douglas Arizona. Survivors include his wife Betha two sons Edward Thomas and Billy Ray a daughter Patsy Ann two grandchildren Sheldon Bret and Starla Jolene two sisters Clara Moorehead and Nannie English and one brother Ernest Garcia. Funeral was at Middle Animas Cemetery with Rev Noel Castle officiating. Heather Mortuary handled arrangements.
